Our Response to India's Evolving Education Policy

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Well-wishers,

Warm greetings from Early School, Jamshedpur!

As we journey together in shaping the future of our children, it is both exciting and necessary to reflect on the transformative changes brought by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 — a bold and visionary step by the Government of India towards reimagining the learning landscape for the 21st century.

At Early School, we wholeheartedly welcome this progressive shift and have already begun aligning our teaching methods, classroom structures, and developmental goals to match its core principles.

✦ What Does the New Policy Mean?

The NEP 2020 brings a fresh approach — it aims to move away from rote memorization towards conceptual understanding, creativity, critical thinking, and multidisciplinary learning. One of the most remarkable structural reforms is the 5+3+3+4 format, replacing the old 10+2 system. This emphasizes foundational learning from the early years, a vision we at Early School have always championed.

As a school committed to excellence and child-centric learning, we have embraced the following reforms:

Activity-based learning in foundational years (ages 3–8)✅ Emphasis on multilingual exposure, including regional languages and English✅ Introduction of experiential and inquiry-based learning in primary and middle stages✅ Gradual incorporation of coding, life skills, and vocational exposure in curriculum✅ Regular teacher training and upskilling to align with NEP’s competency-based approach✅ Promoting mental wellness, play-based methods, and flexibility in assessments
